You can always tell that spring is in the air when the Magical Farms Inc herdsire catalogue arrives in the mail. This is one very impressive piece of marketing collateral it runs to almost 90 pages and is in full colour.
It reminds me very much of the children's Christmas annuals I used to receive as a young boy on Christmas day.
This publication however arrives prority mail and is totally free.
I don't want to get into the alpaca herdsires inside the catalogue that's a separate topic. What I really wanted to talk about was just how daunting it can be for someone new to the alpaca industry when they see the bigger farms flex their marketing muscle.
There is really no way to compete on a "like for like" basis unless you have deep pockets.
But the great news is smaller alpaca breeders do not have to compete in a like for like way with the bigger alpaca breeders.
The world wide web or Internet has levelled the playing field. But you already know that because here you are reading the alpaca farm Blog of a small but successful alpaca farmer.
The David and Goliath story is played out everyday on the Internet and alpaca farming is no different.
So when you see a bigger alpaca farm flex its marketing muscles ...don't get mad...get even !
You need to get on some Internet marketing courses and maximise the effectiveness of your website and if you haven't got a web site ..get one.
Bottom line we at Mulberry have put masses of effort into our website and into e-mail marketing and we will be sharing that knowledge and experience in our upcoming newsletter which we will be sending out this spring.
So sign up now to avoid disappointment.
