Can it really be June on the alpaca farm already and now only 21 days until the longest day?
Yep I guess so...........so lets enjoy the summer while it lasts.
I heard on the e-mail today that the Californian alpaca breeders failed to have their alpacas classified as livestock so have to continue paying sales tax when they buy and sell alpacas. This makes them the odd one out in the whole of the USA but that's America for you.
We are now busy stacking up the hay bales before taking them into storage for sale.
My local hay making friend JP has this neat machine which stacks the hay bales as you scoop them up, its not foolproof but its a big improvement from when I was a teenager. You can see the neat stack in the picture.
One or two people have written to ask about our other "low profile" dog Phoebe...I say low profile because she is half Golden Retriever and half Rug as you can see....
Well she is alive and well and continues with her philosophy of taking life easy.... unlike our Australian Shepherd Gifford who only has two speeds "fast" and "very fast".
Still on cria watch waiting for an alpaca baby that is now close to 5 days overdue....I have to be honest and say I am getting nervous, one or two days either way I can cope with but 6 or 7 days puts me into a state of nervous apprehension.
Still the weekend is almost upon us and tomorrow we have a family coming to pick out two fibre boys to keep as pets on their ranch.
Enjoy your weekends, see you next week, thanks for calling by.
