Today everything appears to be working on the alpaca farm and going according to plan.... that doesn't happen every day as you will know if you are a regular reader of this Blog or perhaps already an alpaca farmer.
In my spare time, I write an alpaca column called Letter From America for the UK alpaca magazine and today have received my brief from the editor for the next issue.
"
The theme of this issue is obviously centred around the shows and results - and some discussion on conformity and breeding for more quality and a better national herd in the long term - that sort of thing."
Of course the US alpaca breeders have just rejected the adoption of a breed standard so I won't be saying too much about that...or maybe then again I will. With hindsight the whole vain glorious scheme does look like a massive waste of time and money. But that's hindsight for you.
This morning I finally gave up on the field where I had sown wild flower seeds and cut the whole lot down... who knows maybe if I water it now they will all spring up out of the ground......
Well must go move the irrigation reel to another pasture. But I will be back again tomorrow so drop by, why don't you?
If you want to see the sun rise then tomorrow is the earliest of the whole year... the sun will rise at 5.21 am tomorrow morning June 14th here in southern Oregon.
