It doesn't matter how much or how little spare time you have alpaca farming somehow just expands to fill the time available in your life...and then some!

We moved the second cutting of hay out of the hay field today so that we can run the flood irrigation and once the hay was at the barn I drilled a sample to go off to the laboratory for analysis.



The three dogs are getting along fine most of the time and enjoy their freedom. we took them down to the lake and of course Tonks the Chesapeake Bay Retriever lept in and out of the water with boundless energy....Phoebe the older Golden Retriever tried to copy and became stuck up to her chin in mud...and of course Gifford the Australian Shepherd simply looked on with a superior air...



Amazingly the alpacas have spotted that Tonks is a new dog and let off a massive alarm cry whenever he is coming there way...quite amazing how they can differentiate between different breeds and different colors of similar breeds.
