Today is the day I am taking the the three female alpacas destined for New Mexico to the vet for TB and Brucellosis test. Everything goes as planned and it only takes Dr Tara Timpson and her assistant about 30 minutes to examine all three alpacas, draw blood and inject the test. Normally we would do this on the farm but the Crater Animal Clinic is very busy and all the vet trucks were booked out?at least this way I save the $55 farm visit charge and the tests will be back before the transporter arrives??.
The rain has been falling thick and fast and there is flooding everywhere. We are okay as we are on the top of a hill but the local creek is fit to burst its banks.
