We have three female alpacas all going to a ranch in New Mexico on the 17th of January and the new owners have now requested BVD tests before the animals ship.
So first thing tomorrow we will have to call the local vet and schedule tests.
This reasonable request makes me wonder about testing the whole herd so we will know exactly where we are at least for now. But with some strains of BVDV in the wild animal population we will never be certain that we acan remain completely free.
